Works in Progress, Fall 2026
My work is rooted in an interdisciplinary practice where concepts dictate the choice of material and process. Rather than limiting myself to a single medium, I let each concept determine the materials and processes it requires. This way of working encourages constant experimentation, material exploration, and play.
Along the way, I often learn new techniques to bring a project to life. Some of these skills remain dormant until another idea calls for them, while others become lasting parts of my artistic vocabulary. I embrace this evolving process, allowing my practice to grow with each new question, material, and body of work.
FIRE
USING TRADITIONAL HOME BUILDING MATERIALS, I AM RECREATING A SERIES OF SCULPTURE REPRESENTING FRAGMENTS OF MY HOME PRIOR TO MY HOUSE FIRE, THEN SETTING THEM ON FIRE. THIS FORCES FIRE TO BECOME MY COLLABORATOR RATHER THAN THE SOUL DESTROYER. FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, I WILL ALSO BE INCORPORATING VIDEOGRAPHY INTO MY PRACTICE AS WELL.

Sculpting Solid
Using ceramic clay, I am sculpting a near life size, full figure self portrait. This will be my first attempt at sculpting the figure, as well as sculpting solid ceramics to hollow out! I plan to underglaze and fire this piece in multiple pieces, then reassemble for display in my upcoming exhibition, Where the Smoke Settled, 2026.
Ol' factory
The picture above is a tincture containing charcoal shaped from the wood of my charred attic beams. I am extracting the scent of this material, among others to craft scent accords and apply them to materials in my upcoming exhibition, Where the Smoke Settled, 2026.

Tapestry
Using my homemade tapestry loom, I am weaving a 36"x 56" tapestry depicting the source of my house fire using recovered yarn from prior to my fire in October 2024. This will be displayed in my upcoming exhibition, Where the Smoke Settled, 2026.
My background in weaving is on a floor loom that I acquired this summer. I have also experimented with handheld cardboard tapestry looms, dating back to my 5th grade art class with Mr. Cargal. This will be my first time scaling up!
SILICONE MOLD MAKING AND FABRIC CASTING
USING CONSTRUCTION GRADE SILICONE, PLASTER, AND SAND I WILL BE MAKING MOLDS OF A SERIES OF CLAY MASKS TO THEN CAST IN VARIOUS MATERIALS, INCLUDING FABRIC AND IRON.
